Order, order...this meeting is now in session
The agenda: Getting the focus off of Christ
Their God calls them
To be a light on a hill, shinning in the darkness
Their Savior desires that all will know
They are Christians by their love
What’s a devil to do
To get the focus off of Christ?
Let’s use their natural sinful tendencies
Put the focus on themselves
Unforgiveness, you sow seeds of hurt
Bitterness, you come alongside and nurse a grudge
Before long anger and resentment
Will be able to slip in unnoticed
Gossip, your assignment is to loosen tongues
May the sparks of slander spread to all who have an ear to hear
Cause them to forget that their Savior died
And has forgiven the very one they won’t forgive
Their prayers will be rendered ineffective
When they are distracted by their feelings, instead of focused God
My fellow demons, may the saint’s love for God
And for the brethren be rendered impotent
Sow the seeds of discord
That we may soon reap the fruit of division

For I am afraid that when I come I may not find you as I want you to be, and you may not find me as you want me to be. I fear that there may be discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, slander, gossip, arrogance and disorder. – 1 Corinthians 12:20
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. – Colossians 3:12-14

That's just exactly what the sly old devil does. But, we have to be wise to his tricks and remember that even though it is at times a real battle, our victory has already been won by His Blood!
I hope you are saving all of your poetry because it is powerful.
Blessings~
AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Sandy and Michelle,
Thank you for your comments. We must always remember we are engaged in a spiritual battle with an enemy who is fierce and seeks to destroy us. In the power of the Lord and equipped with His armor may we fight this battle, in no better place than on our knees
Blessings in Christ...Susan
Hi Susan,
Yes that is what he does. Excellent reminder to not listen to him and get my eyes on Jesus.
Have a happy and blessed Thanksgiving,
Ken
Hi Ken,
Thank you for stopping by. Thankfully, through the power of Christ within us, we don't have to fall prey to the enemy. But we must be wise and discerning.
I pray that you and your family have a happy and blessed Thanksgiving day.
In Christ...Susan
Happy Thanksgiving Susan! Indeed the enemy is strategic in getting us from focusing on what truly matters.
