By Faith

Hebrews 11: 1 (NIV)
Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

There are many great tools available to Christians today...numerous resources on the internet. One of these websites is Bible Gateway. On this site you can look up Bible verses, do a word search, or do topical searches. There are many versions of the Bible to check and compare. If you are having difficulty in understanding a passage it can be helpful to compare the different versions and how the same passage is worded. The passage shown above is from the New International Version. Below that same passage is listed out of the Amplified Version.

Hebrews 11:1 (Amplified)
Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, [a]the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].

NIV gives a more succinct rendering...and Amplified a fully bodied expanded interpretation. Be sure to check out Bible Gateway to use for your Bible study.
